Mariée Ami Weddings: Margaret & Clay
To us, there is nothing better than a quintessentially Southern spring wedding. The colors are pastel, the weather is just right, and the beautiful Spring florals are in full bloom! Naturally, we were ecstatic when Margaret, and her groom, Clay, came to us with the plan to wed at her childhood home in Huntsville, Alabama, and to have the reception at her grandmother’s house down the street.
While sometimes weddings at home mean lots of DIY elements, that was not the look this family envisioned. Margaret’s vision was to have some design details that were “wow!” moments. There were show-stoppers in spades—from the swimming pool that was floored and used as a dance floor, to the beautiful floral reception entrance and the stunning wedding cake.
Margaret, and her mom, Emily, love paper and stationery, so we came up with an invitation suite that spoke to them. They opted for letterpress, bevelled and painted edges, wax seals—the works!
Margaret’s grandmother lives just a few houses down from her parents, so the couple chose to do a second line that led the wedding party and guests from the ceremony to the reception.
We absolutely loved planning with this bride and her family! With their exquisite taste and attention to detail, there was no stone left unturned. Their interest in the guest experience was so evident that when the night was over no one wanted it to end!
