Mariée Ami Weddings: Kirstin & Walton

We had such a fun time planning Kirstin and Walton's wedding that we were a little sad when it was over!  A whimsical, woodsy August wedding with a blush and green palette with white dinner jackets to top it off.... stunning and different! Here are a few words from the bride... Tell us about your love story? "Walton and I went to school together from Kindergarten all the way through college at Auburn, but managed to never get to know each other. We reconnected at a tailgate before an Auburn football game and Walton asked me on our first date. Shortly after our very first date, we started dating (long distance) and after a year of a zillion miles traveled, phone calls and snail mail cards, Walton proposed.

The proposal was pretty perfect, nothing over the top, but not lacking an ounce of romance. We walked to dinner at our favorite restaurant in my neighborhood and returned to my apartment for a glass of wine on my porch. When we got home, the mail was sitting out and on the top was a letter from Walton. He asked me to read it and meet him outside. The note had all the reasons he loved me written down and the final sentence of the note asked if I would marry him. Obviously, I went out to the porch to ask if he was serious and he was on one knee with a ring and a bottle of champagne (who would say no to that!)"

What was the "vision" for your wedding? "I'll never forget trying to describe my vision for the wedding to Emma and Neillie for the first time. The only words that would come to my mind were whimsical and fairy tale...which sounds soooo cheesy and not anything like me! However, Emma and Neillie knew exactly what I meant by those words and turned the Grand Bohemian into EXACTLY what I was envisioning!"

What was your favorite part of the planning? "My favorite part of the planning was working with Mariee Ami on all the details! It was amazing to me to see everything I dreamed in my head come to life through the invitation, color scheme and decor. It was also great being able to be stress free during the planning. I knew everything was going to be ok with Emma in biggest stress was which shoes I was going to wear under my dress! My other favorite part during the planning was having Walton participate in the details. He really got in to what the grooms cake would look like (and taste like) and he insisted that we didn't see each other before the ceremony. Seeing him excited made the planning that much better!"
