Top 5 Things to do after Getting Engaged
This time if year is known for lots of proposals. Now that you've said "yes" - what should you do first? Today we're giving you a quick rundown of what's important to check off the list to stay on track for a stress - free engagement!ONE: Get Inspired! Start your Pinterest Board (see ours here) and pick up a stack of wedding magazines. It's important to know what you like and don't like so you can plan appropriately. It may take a few days to begging to find "trends" in looks you pin and mark. Think color palettes, flowers, paper, fancy vs. casual, any other detail you just have to have! Invite your planner, photographer and florist to your Pinterest board as well so they can see your vision clearer! TWO: Set a budget This helps you decide what details are important to and where to focus. You don't want to book a fabulous venue or buy a dress only to realize you have nothing leftover for food and flowers! Mariée Ami can help walk you through this part. THREE: Pick a Date We recommend anywhere from 6 months to a year. Choosing a quicker engagement is fine, just keep in mind you need to be quick at making decisions! Once you pick a date you can reserve your vendors. FOUR: Make a Guest List By far one of the most difficult parts of the planning process. If budget is a big consideration, remember more people means a larger budget. This also helps narrow down your venue selection because of what they can hold. This doesn't need to be exact at this point but a rough idea will help you make other decisions. FIVE: Reserve your Ceremony and Reception sites You need to be sure you have a place to get married and celebrate! Lock this down right away because believe it or not venues get booked up to a year and a half in advance! BONUS: Book you Photographer, Florist, and Caterer We can help give a list of recommendations that fit the look and budget you want. These vendors also get booked early, especially if they are good. You can work out the details later, but there's nothing worse than stressing about securing of these vendors close to time!
