"What to Wear" with Southern Femme
We are so excited to have Megan LaRussa Chenoweth of Southern Femme guest post today! Megan is a Style Coach, Fashion Event Planner, and Style Director of Southern Femme and today she is giving us her picks and tips to be the best dressed guest at your winter weddings this year! Tis the season for selecting that perfect Christmas tree, sipping hot coco with loved ones, and the often dreaded…holiday shopping.
As a Style Coach, I am in a wide variety of stores every day shopping for clients, and I see the good, the bad and the ugly of shopping this time of year. The bad and ugly consist of crowded stores, grouchy sales associates, and lack of parking. But the good equates to sales and deals galore, not to mention online shopping in the comfort of your PJs!
To make your holiday season a little less stressful and a little more stylish, I’ve created 3 effortlessly chic looks for you to sport to your next winter wedding. No more last minute retail runs or wasted time spent staring in your closet wondering what to wear, go ahead and snag these looks before the sales and the items are gone!
Opt for a jewel tone party dress with a hint of sparkle to make a statement at your next winter wedding. Keep the accessories understated and neutral to allow the dress, and you, to shine.
#2: Sophisticated Elegance
A winter wedding is the perfect occasion to wear a frock with sleeves. Try an illusion sleeve and neckline for a flattering look on any silhouette (not to mention Tadashi makes the MOST flattering dresses!). The icing on the wedding cake?? Spectacular accessories sure to make your night memorable.
#3: Formal & Fabulous
Black Tie Blues? Cure them quick with a pop of color, like a ruby red, evening gown. Make a dramatic exit (after the bride and groom of course) with a draped down the back necklace. And don’t forget your clutch in a complimentary color (navy + red + yellow gold= primary hues!) to complete your formal look.
