Expert Advice: Wedding Day Makeup

Celine_Post4 We get the opportunity to work with a lot of great and talented people in this industry, Celine being one of them! Whenever we have her booked her for make-up, we know the bride will love the way she looks. She has a knack for making her clients look naturally pretty and not over-done.

We are so excited to share some of her expert advice for your special day. Take notes, ladies!

1. Always do a trial run through with your stylists for your hair and makeup. Your wedding day is not the day to try a new look! There are so much emotion, excitement, and nerves that you may not be thinking straight. So make sure you love that red lip or your hair all the way up BEFORE the wedding day. It helps put you at ease, especially if you havent worked with a particular stylist before. When someone says to me, "I want a natural look," what she thinks of as natural and what I think could be completely different! Just like you would for your hair stylist, bring in a photo of something you like, most stylists are highly visual and this will give them a better feel for your style.

2. Same goes for any other service you are considering... Try out a spray tan, facial, eyebrow tint, way before the event...the oompa loompa look is not flattering!

3. A good schedule the day of the wedding. That's why Mariée Ami is the best! I wanted to do my own hair and make-up for my wedding (mistake #1!) I should've taken advantage of the ONE day I could actually have people help me. The time got away from me because I was helping other people get ready and I didn't get as long as I would have liked to do everything.  This creates stress.  Write out a detailed wedding day schedule in advance. This is such an important piece of wedding day peace!

4. Relax! Try to work in buffer time and ENJOY. While you're getting your hair and makeup done, take some time to close your eyes, quiet your frantic brain with 1000 to do's! and just breathe.  Be in the moment. Think about your big day, who you are marrying and that you are getting married!

Weddings were an unexpected offshoot of her business as brides starting discovering her knack for natural, elegant, effortless looks. Maybe one of these days she'll make it official and put up a wedding site.
